Crossroads St. Pete Paver Driveways
Crossroads is a named St. Petersburg neighborhood of inland lots, not a beach-block street. The drives still fail the Pinellas way: sugar sand under a thin base, oak roots lifting the walk, and a garage throat that holds water after a summer storm. PaverForge Hardscapes, based in St. Pete Beach, rebuilds those drives instead of overlaying the old concrete.
What we rebuild on a Crossroads lot
Most Crossroads houses are mid-century ranches with a single-car or widened two-car apron and a city sidewalk at the street. We excavate the failed slab, undercut soft sand, and compact crushed base in lifts before the bedding sand goes down. Vehicle lanes get 80mm concrete pavers. Walks and the porch landing can stay on 60mm if cars never cross them.
The apron at the city sidewalk is its own piece of work. Pinellas sidewalk grind-and-raise jobs leave a lip, and a private paver field has to meet that lip without a trip edge or a pond at the garage. We set the crown or the one-way pitch on site, usually about two percent away from the house, and we leave a clean joint at the sidewalk so the city can raise the walk later without destroying the field.
Roots, irrigation, and the quote
Live oaks along these streets heave walks every few years. Where a root is structural we bridge it or shift the walk, and we do not promise a root barrier will stop a mature oak. Irrigation heads and valve boxes get reset flush so a mower and a tire do not catch them. Utility locates come before we cut.
PaverForge photographs the apron, the garage threshold, and any standing water before pricing. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com. Service details are at https://www.paverforge.com/services.
