Cul-de-sac geometry

The flare at the apron has to clear the mailbox, the sidewalk, and the neighbor's radius. A straight soldier course that ignores the turning path chips at the outside corner. We lay that corner as a pinned border on a full base, not a cosmetic band on sand.

Base and water

North Pinellas sand does not hold a patio-spec section under cars. Driveways get compacted aggregate in lifts, proof-rolled before bedding sand. Water leaves the field toward the street or a lawn swale. Downspouts that dump on the walk get a splash basin or a short extension so the first course does not scour.

HOA packets, if the association wants one, can include the pattern, the border color, and a note on where the water goes. We do not invent a rule the association did not write.

When a re-level is enough

If the units are intact and the failure is a settled tire path, we lift, rebuild the base in that lane, and reset. If the edge restraint has walked and the field has spread, the border comes out and is re-pinned before joint sand goes back in.
