Dock Cleat Footing Collars on Paver Approaches

A dock cleat bolted through a paver will rock the field the first time a line loads it. The hardware belongs on a footing. The paver field only needs a collar so the approach can be lifted later.

How the collar is built

We leave a sleeve or a cast collar sized to the cleat base, set on the footing, and bring the paver ring flush around it. The collar is not a decorative cap glued to the surface.

Pitch on the approach still leaves the seawall cap. A trapped low spot at the cleat just holds salt water against the metal.

Salt and access

We keep the ring in a darker soldier course so scuffs and salt crust do not show as a blotch in the field. The cleat stays removable without tearing the walk.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
