Eagle Crest Neighborhood Driveways in Largo
Eagle Crest sits in central Largo, where lots are tidy, HOA sightlines are real, and driveways take daily passenger-car traffic over Pinellas sand that holds water after summer storms. A thin slab or a paver field set on leftover fill will print tire ruts by the first wet season. PaverForge Hardscapes builds Eagle Crest driveways as a compacted section, not a cosmetic overlay.
What Eagle Crest lots actually ask of a driveway
Most Eagle Crest drives are single- or double-car throats that meet a city sidewalk and a relatively short apron. The failure pattern is the same: the throat settles first, the field dishes toward the garage, and joint sand washes toward the low corner. We shoot existing grades from sidewalk to slab, then set a two-percent pitch that sheds water off the field without dumping it onto a neighbor.
HOA packets in this part of Largo usually want a quiet color field, a darker soldier-course border, and a clean joint line at the sidewalk. We mock the border and the throat flare on the ground before the first pallet is opened so the finished drive looks planned, not patched.
How we build the section
We undercut organic pockets, place geotextile where the subgrade is mixed, and compact crushed-concrete base in lifts. Bedding is ASTM C33 concrete sand, not leftover mason sand. Edge restraint is pinned at corners and along the throat, because that is where Largo stormwater tries to peel the field apart. Joints get polymeric sand only after the field is locked and dry enough to cure.
If the city has raised the sidewalk or apron since the last overlay, we rebuild the private throat to the new elevation instead of leaving a trip lip at the right-of-way. That one detail is what keeps an Eagle Crest drive from looking settled six months later.
