Edgemoor Hardscapes along the Gandy Corridor
Edgemoor sits along the Gandy corridor in south St. Petersburg, close enough to the bay that summer cells push water across yards that already sit low. Commute traffic, guest parking, and a high water table punish a thin drive. PaverForge Hardscapes builds Edgemoor fields with a compacted base and an edge that does not walk into the swale.
Corridor lots are not quiet lots
These drives see daily cars, not weekend use. Wheel paths rut first. If the original install was bedding sand on native fill, the first wet season writes the failure. We excavate to a depth the traffic actually needs, compact in lifts, and only then set stone.
Keep pitch off the house and out of the neighbor's low corner.
Use 80mm on the parking field; save 60mm for the walk.
Rebuild the apron so the city approach and the private field meet on one plane.
Plan a catch basin when the lot has nowhere honest for the water to go.
Gandy wash and salt air
Storm wash from the corridor does not stay in the street. We detail the first course so sand does not pump at the gutter line, and we pick colors that fade slower in south-county sun. Pretty is allowed. Fake base is not.
