Driveways in Five Towns of Clearwater

Five Towns sits off McMullen Booth and Countryside corridors in north Clearwater. Lots are HOA-reviewed, oak-shaded, and often have a long private field that meets a city sidewalk and apron that was raised after a mill-and-overlay. The driveway fails first at that throat, then in the shade where irrigation keeps the joints wet.

PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds those fields from St. Pete Beach. We do not overlay a failed sand bed. We open the throat, set a compacted crushed-concrete base, and pitch the field so summer storms leave the garage slab instead of sitting in the last two courses.

What usually fails here

  • A private field that was never tied to the raised city apron, so the first course rolls under tire load.

  • Live-oak root plates under the north edge that heave soldier courses after a wet June.

  • Irrigation overspray that keeps polymeric sand from locking on the shade side of the drive.

  • An HOA packet that asks for color, pattern, and border photos before work starts.

How we build the field

We locate utilities, photograph the existing apron and sidewalk, and set string lines from the garage slab to the right-of-way. Organic pockets under the old sand get undercut. Base goes in lifts and gets plate-compacted. Bedding is ASTM C33, not leftover concrete sand. The field is 80mm on drives. Borders are pinned so the first course cannot walk into the lawn.

If the HOA wants a sample panel, we set one on-site before the pallet drop. Color-blend across three pallets so the field does not blotch in the afternoon sun off Countryside.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
