Florida Botanical Gardens and Pinellas County Extension-Adjacent Drives in Largo

The Florida Botanical Gardens and the Pinellas County Extension campus sit on Ulmerton-adjacent land where mature oaks, event overflow, and residential drives share one hydrology. A new paver field here cannot pitch sheet flow into garden beds or Extension parking. PaverForge Hardscapes grades those lots to the street or to a defined basin, then builds a compacted base that leaves feeder roots alone.

Roots, irrigation, and event days

Garden-adjacent lots often have irrigation laterals and low-voltage lighting that were never mapped for a driveway rebuild. We locate utilities, sleeve crossings before base goes down, and keep the first course off trunk flares. Where a root already heaved the old slab, the repair is a local excavation and geotextile wrap, not a chainsaw through the structural root.

Event weekends at the Gardens fill nearby streets. We schedule demo and dumpster swaps on weekday mornings, keep one travel lane, and leave the public sidewalk passable. That is the difference between a residential patio crew and a contractor who has worked this pocket.

What we build on these lots

Typical work is a full driveway rebuild, a visitor pad that does not block the sidewalk, and a walk from the drive to a side gate that stays flush for carts and coolers. Edges are restrained; joints are swept with the sand the climate actually keeps.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
