Flush Irrigation Satellite Boxes in Finished Paver Beds
A satellite or decoder box that sits proud of a finished paver bed becomes a trip edge and a mower strike. Burying it under a paver makes the next valve service a teardown.
How we set the box
We set the box on its own compacted pad, not on bedding sand, and bring the lid flush with the finished paver. The surrounding field keeps its pitch so irrigation water does not pond on the lid.
The box stays large enough for the solenoid and the wire splice. We do not shrink the opening to hide it. A soldier ring around the lid marks the access so the next tech does not saw a random paver.
When to do it
The clean time is during the paver install, before joint sand. A retrofit lifts a small panel, resets the box, and re-sands only that ring.
