Flush Seawall Sacrificial-Anode Access Plates
Aluminum and steel seawalls on Pinellas canals use sacrificial anodes that a marine contractor inspects and replaces. When the cap walk is a finished paver field, the only way to reach the hanger is often a saw cut. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a flush access plate in that walk so the next inspection does not start with a demolition.
What we build, and what we do not
We build the hardscape collar: a restrained opening, a plate or paver hatch that sits flush with the walking surface, and edge restraint so the field does not creep into the hole. The marine contractor owns the anode, the hanger, and the electrical bond. We coordinate the opening location with them before the pavers go down.
The plate has to stay trip-free and drain. A recessed box that holds water becomes a slip spot on a cap walk. We pitch the surrounding courses away from the plate and keep polymeric sand out of the lift joint so the hatch still opens. This is a collar in a paver walk, not a structural seawall repair.
Where this shows up
Canal lots in Pinellas Point, Shore Acres, Venetian Isles, and the beach islands are the usual calls. If the cap walk is already failing, we rebuild the walk and set the plate in the same visit. Call 727-490-9798 or book at paverforge.com/book-online. Service overview at paverforge.com/services.
