Forest Lakes Driveways in Palm Harbor
Forest Lakes sits west of US 19 in Palm Harbor, a pocket of 1980s and 1990s homes under live oaks with long, slightly crowned drives. Many of those drives were a thin sand bed over native soil. After three decades of irrigation, acorns, and summer storms, the field walks and the throat ponds at the sidewalk.
What a Forest Lakes driveway has to survive
The typical call is a settled concrete ribbon, a plastic edge that kicked out along the oak drip line, or a garage slab that now sits a full paver thickness above the old field. We undercut organic pockets, compact crushed concrete in thin lifts at workable moisture, and keep a two-percent pitch off the slab toward the street — never toward the stoop.
HOA packets here are usually simple: color, pattern, and a note that the apron at the sidewalk stays a city or county detail. We photograph existing grades before excavation so the finished field still meets the sidewalk without a trip lip.
Access and staging
Interior streets are quiet and the lots pinch at the side yard. We stage pallets on mats, protect the neighbor strip, and sequence cuts so one car can still park overnight. Utility locates happen before the first shovel because irrigation laterals and older water services are common under these drives.
