Garden Avenue Clearwater Paver Drives
Garden Avenue is a quiet residential street in Clearwater, the kind of lot where a thin sand bed under an old concrete ribbon has been moving for twenty years. The call is usually a dip at the sidewalk or a garage slab that now sits a paver thickness above the field.
What the drive has to survive
Live oaks drop acorns and hold irrigation against the edge. A plastic restraint kicked out along the drip line is common. We undercut organic pockets, keep the root zone honest, and compact aggregate in lifts instead of dumping a thick lift and hoping the plate reaches the bottom.
Pitch stays about two percent off the slab toward the street. Water that sheets back at the garage door is a failed job, even if the color looks right from the curb.
Apron and sidewalk
The sidewalk and the apron throat are a city detail. We photograph existing grades before excavation so the finished field meets the walk without a trip lip. An 80mm stone is what we want under cars. A patio paver will dish at the tire path.
Side yards pinch. We stage on mats, protect the neighbor strip, and locate irrigation laterals before the first shovel.
