Grill Quick-Connect Isolation Plates for Outdoor Kitchens
A grill quick-connect is a small brass stub that becomes a big problem once pavers close over it. The hose needs a straight pull, the shutoff needs a hand, and the paver that covers the stub is the one that cracks when the cart rolls back. An isolation plate keeps that spot serviceable.
What we set before the field locks
We leave a short paver plate, or a flush box the gas fitter can live with, centered on the stub they marked. The plate is independent of the kitchen slab so heat and a later appliance swap do not telegraph into the patio. Pitch runs off the plate, not into the cabinet toe-kick.
We do not connect gas. The plumber or gas fitter owns the line, the shutoff, and the test. We own the base, the elevation, and the joint so their cover sits flush. If the stub is already buried, we open only the marked square and rebuild that patch with the same border.
