Flush Seawall Overflow Weir Collars
An overflow weir is the low notch in a seawall cap that lets stormwater leave the yard before it reaches the house. On a finished paver field that notch is also where the bedding sand disappears. Water pouring through the opening scours the edge, the joint sand leaves, and the first courses rock.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets flush overflow-weir collars on Pinellas canal lots so the field stays locked and the weir still works. Call 727-490-9798 or book at paverforge.com/book-online.
What the collar does
This is not a weep-hole splash collar and it is not a scupper. The weir is a designed opening. The paver work has to frame it, not cover it.
Open the failed courses at the notch and reset the base
A flush collar and edge restraint that leave the weir opening clear
Pitch on the cap field toward the weir, not toward the house
Joint sand locked after compaction so the next storm does not mine the edge
When we will not cover it
If the cap is spalled or the weir is cracked through, that is a marine-contractor repair first. We set the paver collar after the concrete is sound. King-pile inspection plates are a separate access detail on the same caps.
