Flush Seawall King-Pile Inspection Plates

A king pile is the heavier vertical member in a sheet-pile or king-pile seawall. The bolts and the pile head often sit under a paver cap walk. Cutting the field every time a marine contractor needs to look is how cap walks fall apart on Pinellas canals.

A plate you can lift without saw-cutting the patio

We set a flush inspection plate in the finished paver field, framed so the surrounding courses stay locked when the plate comes up. The plate sits at the same elevation as the cap walk, with a joint that does not become a trip edge. We do not seal over a wet plate.

  • Flush to the seawall cap walk, not a raised lid

  • Frame isolated from the pile so movement does not telegraph into the field

  • Marked so the next contractor can find the plate without probing

  • Reset after an inspection so the joint sand is packed again
