Historic Old Southeast St. Pete Hardscapes

Historic Old Southeast sits just south of downtown St. Petersburg: bungalows, short drives, and alleys that were never meant for a skid-steer and a pallet of stone. The work is still worth doing. A clean paver walk and a driveway that does not pond against the porch change how the house reads from the street. The install has to respect the lot, not fight it.

Tight access is the job

We plan haul-off, material drops, and neighbor courtesy before the first stone moves. Side-yard staging is common. If a truck cannot sit on the street for long, we split deliveries. That costs less than tearing up a new field because someone dumped base in a wet pile and called it done.

What we build here

  • Short driveways with a city apron that matches the existing approach.

  • Walks from sidewalk to porch that pitch away from the house.

  • Side-yard paths that stay compactable under oak shade.

  • Small patios that sit on a real base instead of a sand lens.

Historic fabric matters. We do not pretend a glossy porcelain plaza belongs on every bungalow. Concrete pavers in a running bond or herringbone, with a soldier-course border, usually look honest and hold better on these short lots.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
