Indian Shores Estates Neighborhood Driveways
Indian Shores Estates is the interior pocket behind Gulf Boulevard, close enough to the beach that salt air, king-tide splash, and visitor parking all show up in the same driveway. Lots are tighter than Palm Harbor acreage. The field has to turn a passenger car without chewing the neighbor's sod, and the throat has to survive the mill-and-overlay cycle the county runs on Gulf Blvd.
Salt, sand, and a short turning bay
A coastal driveway fails first at the edges. Plastic restraint that was never pinned at the corners lifts after a storm surge leaves standing water in the joint sand. We pin a salt-tolerant edge, keep polymeric out of any joint that still drains toward a seawall cap, and use a slightly darker soldier course so tire scuffs from beach-weekend traffic do not read as stain.
Pinned edge restraint at every outside corner, not just the long runs
Joint sand chosen for washout risk instead of a one-size polymeric spec
A turning bay that does not force a three-point turn onto the sidewalk
Base undercuts where organic fill was dumped during an old addition
Working around Gulf Boulevard access
Material drops on Gulf Blvd need a flagger window and a plan for where empty pallets go. We night-load when the owner wants the street clear by morning, and we protect the existing sod with access mats so the side-yard is not a mud track by Friday. If the city later raises the sidewalk or apron, the first five feet of the field is detailed so it can be rebuilt without opening the whole driveway.
