John's Pass Village Storefront Walks in Madeira Beach
John's Pass Village is not a quiet residential sidewalk. Cooler carts, wet sandals, and weekend crowds grind joints open if the field was set on beach sand and hoped for the best. Storefront walks here need the same compacted section we use on small-commercial pads, with a joint that can be re-sanded after storm season without tearing the walk apart.
Salt, splash, and a drain path that actually works
Gulf splash and wash-down water have to leave the storefront door. We pitch the walk to a channel or a tight jointed edge that does not dump water under the adjacent deck. Stainless or hot-dip hardware belongs on any drain grate. Painted patio stone on a thin setting bed will scale in two summers.
Business hours and night staging
Most John's Pass owners cannot close for a week. We stage pallets off the boardwalk, cut off-site when the street is tight, and work early or mid-week windows so the field is walkable before the weekend rush. Existing utility lids stay at finish grade with collars, not buried under a new course.
