Keeping Polymeric Sand Out of Pool Skimmers and Weirs

Polymeric sand that reaches a skimmer or a weir does not stay a joint problem. It sets into a crust on the basket, fouls the weir flap, and can pack an auto-cover track if the deck drains toward the water.

Masking and wash-off sequence

Before we broom sand, skimmers, returns, and the cover track get taped and boarded. Excess sand is blown off the field toward the yard, not toward the water. The first water pass is a light mist from the house side so haze does not sheet into the pool.

If an older deck already dumped sand into the equipment, we lift the two rows at the beam, vacuum the joint, and reset with a narrower joint and a soldier course that pitches away from the coping.

Deck work on an active pool

Tell us whether the pool will stay full. PaverForge Hardscapes stages the sand day around the filter cycle so you are not backwashing polymer into the yard. Call 727-490-9798.
