Maximo Point Driveways in South St. Pete
Maximo Point is the low residential point south of Pinellas Point, tucked toward Maximo Marina and the Skyway approach. It is not Isla del Sol and it is not Maximo Moorings. Lots here are short, drives are shorter, and salt air plus a king tide show up at the apron before they show up in the courtyard.
What fails first
The throat. Trailers, a tight turn from a narrow street, and a gutter that holds water after a west wind. The second failure is the joint sand, washed out where a downspout was aimed at the drive. The paver color is rarely the problem.
How we build a point driveway
We excavate the failed apron and the soft court together if the base has already moved. Geotextile, compacted stone, and an 80mm concrete paver in herringbone take the turning load. A lighter 60mm field is fine only where a car never parks. Edge restraint is continuous. Pitch leaves the garage and finds the street, with a soldier course at the gutter.
Salt and access
We do not set a natural stone that pits in salt spray on a drive a boat rinses every weekend. Concrete pavers take that rinse. Material comes in through the drive, not across a neighbor bulkhead. Seawall caps and dock gates stay outside the paved field unless we are tying a landing to them on purpose.
Maximo Point FAQ
Do you work inside the marina? The residential streets, yes. Marina common elements and slip aprons are a separate approval, and we do not start those without it.
Can a paver drive handle a boat trailer? Yes, if the base and the paver thickness are built for it. A patio paver on sand will rut under a trailer tongue jack. We size the throat for that load.
