Memorial Causeway Approach Lots in Clearwater Beach
Memorial Causeway is the only road onto Clearwater Beach from downtown. The approach lots on both ends sit in salt air, take storm surge, and have almost no room to stage a skid steer. PaverForge Hardscapes builds and repairs paver driveways and pool decks on those approach parcels without blocking the causeway.
Salt, surge, and a narrow lot
Use a plastic or aluminum edge restraint, not raw steel, on the Gulf side. Compact the base in thin lifts and keep the field at least two percent off the house slab toward a drain that can be cleaned after a tide event. Do not trap water against a pool cage kick plate.
Sleeve holiday lighting and low-voltage conduit in the base so the field is not cut in December.
Choose a textured face on pool decks. Polished units get slick when the afternoon shower hits.
Hold the first course off the seawall cap with an isolation joint so the wall and the field can move separately.
Permits and the public right-of-way
The apron at the street is often a city or county spec. We build the private field to meet that apron instead of fighting it, and we photograph the pre-set condition for the inspection packet. Access mats stay on the grass so the next high tide does not turn ruts into a washout.
PaverForge Hardscapes works Clearwater Beach and the causeway approaches from our St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com with the lot address and we will walk the slab, the cage, and the seawall before we price it.
