Myrtle Avenue Clearwater Paver Approaches
Myrtle Avenue in Clearwater is a short residential run where the driveway, the side walk, and the utility strip all meet in a few feet. The usual failure is a settled approach at the garage and a walk that rocks after the wet season.
Grade before color
We read the slab, the sidewalk, and the swale before we specify a pattern. If the field is set level with the garage so it looks flat in a photo, water sits on the threshold. Two percent off the house, toward the street or a low point that already works.
Cleanouts and water meters stay in flush grade rings. Paving over a lid looks clean for a month and becomes a utility call that tears the field.
Base and edge
Native sand under these approaches is not a base. We excavate to a workable depth, compact crushed concrete in thin lifts, and set an edge restraint that can take a tire without rolling. Joints get locked after compaction, not just swept and left.
If the existing stones are still sound, we re-level the settled bay instead of tearing out a field that only failed at the base.
