Old Northeast Driveways Along St. Pete Brick Streets

Old Northeast driveways do not get a free pass because the house is historic. The brick street, the parkway oaks, and the City's design review all show up in the first twenty feet of the lot. If the new field meets the brick with a thick concrete ribbon that does not match the block, the whole approach looks temporary.

The street joint is the hard part

We set the driveway apron so water leaves the garage and does not pond on the brick. Where the city requires a specific apron detail, that detail is built first, then the private field locks into it with a soldier course so the two sections can move independently. Side-load garages on these lots need extra cut work; a running-bond field that ignores the turn radius will ravel at the inside corner.

Historic review without a surprise denial

Old Northeast packets usually want material, color, and edge photos, not a one-line description. We mock a small panel on site when the house is masonry or painted brick so the board is looking at the real product, not a catalog chip. Staging stays off the brick street whenever the city allows alley or side-yard access.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
