Orange Street Dunedin Paver Walks

Orange Street is a shaded residential block in Dunedin, off the Alternate 19 corridor rather than on the beach. Oaks heave thin concrete walks, and the city sidewalk still has to meet the new paver walk at a flush joint.

Roots, not just a pretty pattern

A walk that looks fine in spring will tent by August if we pave over a surface root and a skim of sand. We locate the heave, decide with the owner whether a root can be pruned by an arborist, and rebuild the base so the field does not bridge a void.

  • Excavate past the failed concrete, not an overlay on a rocking slab

  • Root barrier only where it will not girdle a tree we are keeping

  • Pitch the walk away from the stoop

  • Soldier course at the sidewalk so the joint stays readable

Matching the rest of the yard

If the drive is already pavers, we match module and color as close as current pallets allow and tell you when an exact match is gone. A near match with a border reads better than a blotchy field forced from leftover brick.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
