Outdoor Kitchen Ice-Maker Line Chase Collars
Ice makers and keg lines under a paver outdoor kitchen need a sleeve that can be opened without prying the field. Pave over the stub and the next leak is a demolition job.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets a flush chase collar that marks the line and keeps polymeric sand out of the conduit.
What the collar does
The water line and the drain, if there is one, stay in a sleeve. The collar is flush with the kitchen pad so a cart wheel does not catch it, and the lid comes off with a screwdriver instead of a saw.
We keep the collar out of the main walking line and away from the grill heat. The pad still pitches to a drain or a trapped low point, not back at the house.
Base under the kitchen
An ice maker on a skim of sand will rock the counter. The kitchen bay gets the same compacted base as the rest of the pad, with the sleeve set before the bedding sand goes down.
