Palm Harbor Heights Neighborhood Driveways
Palm Harbor Heights is an inland neighborhood north of downtown Palm Harbor. Lots roll more than beach-side Pinellas. Driveways often climb from Alt 19 or a side street toward a garage that sits a full step above the sidewalk.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds those climbs so water does not run under the garage door and so the first course at the sidewalk does not become a trip edge after the next city overlay.
Holding a crown on a slope
A long sloped drive needs a crown or a one-way pitch that is planned, not accidental. We string-line and laser the base, compact in lifts, and keep bedding sand to a consistent thickness so units do not creep downhill after the first wet season.
Where the slope is steep enough that a passenger car scrapes, we add a short landing at the sidewalk and another at the slab instead of one unbroken plane. Those landings are still sand-set pavers, not a poured speed bump.
Oaks and irrigation
Heights lots keep large oaks. Root plates under the existing asphalt are common. We undercut only what the tree can spare, install a root barrier only where the owner accepts the tradeoff, and keep irrigation heads off the new field so overspray does not stain fresh polymeric joints.
Use 80mm units on the climb; 60mm belongs on the walk, not under truck tires.
Pin restraint tighter on the downhill edge.
Plan extra units for the fan cuts at a flared apron.
Do not seal until the joints have locked through the first dry window.
