Pie-Shaped Corner-Lot Driveway Layout in St. Petersburg
A pie-shaped corner lot in St. Petersburg looks generous on the tax map and tight on the ground. Two street frontages, a mailbox, a stop-sign sight triangle, and a side-load or angled garage all fight for the same square footage. Layout comes before color.
Turning radius before pattern
We chalk the garage swing, the trash-day staging, and a guest pad if the lot allows it. Herringbone takes the turning load better than running bond on a tight radius. A darker soldier course at the edges hides tire scuffs where people cut the corner.
Two frontages, one pitch
Water cannot sheet onto both sidewalks. We pick the primary outfall — usually the lower street or an existing swale — and hold two percent off the slab. The second frontage gets a shallow valley or a short trench so the sidewalk stays dry.
Permits and the city apron
A new or widened curb cut is a city conversation. We photograph the existing apron, note any historic-brick street, and keep the private field behind the right-of-way line so the inspector is looking at one clean joint, not a field that wandered into the sidewalk.
