Pinellas Point Drive South Paver Drives
Pinellas Point Drive South runs through the waterfront end of south St. Petersburg. The drives are long enough to show every soft spot, and many of them were a thin sand bed over fill that has been settling since the house was built.
What these drives have to survive
Oak roots, irrigation, and a sidewalk that belongs to the city. The typical call is a tire dish at mid-drive or an apron that has dropped below the walk. We undercut organic pockets, compact crushed concrete in thin lifts, and keep two percent off the garage toward the street.
An 80mm stone is the driveway thickness. A 60mm patio paver will telegraph every soft spot once a truck uses the drive. Thickness does not replace base.
Waterfront details
Cleanouts, water meters, and irrigation valves get flush rings so a later repair does not mean a torn field. If the lot drains toward the water, we do not pitch the new drive that way just to make the photo look flat. The apron at the sidewalk stays a city detail, photographed before excavation so the finished lip is not a trip edge.
