Pinellas Point Estates Neighborhood Driveways

Pinellas Point Estates sits on the south St. Petersburg peninsula near 54th Avenue South and Lakewood, where live oaks, older ribbon drives, and mixed clay-sand soils punish a thin slab. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds these driveways as interlocking fields that can be opened later without saw-cutting a whole pad.

Soils and roots on the Point

Root flares under the first twenty feet of many Point drives lift the old concrete in plates. We do not grind those plates and overlay. We undercut the flare where the tree can spare it, sleeve the remaining roots, and step the base so the field stays flat without girdling the oak. Organic muck near low lots gets an extra lift of dense-graded base after proof-rolling.

  • Proof-roll after undercut so soft pockets show before bedding sand.

  • Geotextile on sugar-sand or mixed fill so bedding does not migrate.

  • Herringbone field on 80mm units for turning loads off 54th Ave S.

  • Flush grade rings at water meters and cleanouts that already sit in the drive.

Street-apron and flood-adjacent lots

Some Pinellas Point Estates lots sit close enough to the bay that king-tide splash reaches the throat. We keep joints tight at the low end, pin the restraint through the first course, and leave a soldier band that can be reset after a washout instead of tearing the whole field.

PaverForge Hardscapes serves Pinellas Point Estates from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 with photos of the slab, the oak, and the city sidewalk lip.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
