Pool Heater Condensate Neutralizer Pads

Gas and heat-pump pool heaters drop condensate that is acidic enough to etch concrete and stain light pavers. A neutralizer canister in the drain line fixes the chemistry. It still needs a level pad, a service clearance, and a discharge that does not run across the deck joints.

Pad and setback

We set the canister on a small isolated pad next to the equipment skid, not in the walking path and not tight against the heater intake or exhaust. The pad is compacted base and pinned edge restraint, pitched a quarter inch so a spill goes to a trapped drain or a graveled receiver, not back under the heater.

Deck stains

Even neutralized condensate leaves a mineral track if it sheet-flows over polymeric joints. We keep the outlet in a drain, and we hold the pad off the main deck with an isolation joint so vibration from the heater does not telegraph into the field. Intake and exhaust clearances stay as the heater maker specifies. We do not box the unit in with a seat wall.

This pad is usually added while we rebuild an equipment pad or a screen-cage floor. It can also be a stand-alone cut-in if the rest of the deck is sound.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
