Quail Hollow Paver Driveways in Pinellas Park
Quail Hollow sits in Pinellas Park off the 49th Street side, a neighborhood of ranch lots, mature oaks, and drives that were poured or pavered when the subdivision was newer than the soil under them. The surface can look fine until a summer storm sits in the throat and the first course rocks.
PaverForge Hardscapes installs and re-levels pavers in Quail Hollow from our St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at paverforge.com/book-online.
What fails first on these lots
The usual sequence is a thin sand bed, no pinned edge, and water that has nowhere to go except the garage. Sugar sand pumps when a car turns in wet. The soldier course at the sidewalk opens, then the field follows. Irrigation overspray from the parkway strip stains the first two courses rust-brown.
A photo of the dip is not enough to price the fix. We need the garage slab elevation, the sidewalk grade, and whether the city apron is still the original concrete. If the apron is heaved, the private field has to meet it, not fight it.
Base, edge, and where the water goes
Driveways get a compacted aggregate base sized for cars, not a patio section under tires. Bedding sand is screeded to a consistent thickness. Edge restraint is pinned through the base, including the corners where tires scrub. Pitch is about two percent toward the street or a swale that already works, not into the garage.
If the existing pavers are sound, we lift, rebuild the failed base, and reset them. If the units are spalled or the field was laid on sand only, we excavate and start over. That call is made on site.
How to start a Quail Hollow quote
Send photos of the throat, the low spot, and the sidewalk joint. PaverForge Hardscapes will walk the drive, mark what has to come out, and say whether a re-level holds. Call 727-490-9798.
