Race Track Road Yards beside Tampa Bay Downs in Oldsmar

Race Track Road runs along Tampa Bay Downs in Oldsmar. Houses here take ordinary family traffic most weeks and a heavier pulse on race days. Clay pockets and roadside fill are the usual failure, not beach sand.

Base before the pattern

PaverForge Hardscapes proof-rolls the subgrade. Soft clay is undercut and replaced with crushed base in lifts. A driveway that only looks thick at the surface will rut at the apron the first wet winter. We separate the private field from the county edge so a later mill-and-resurface does not take the pavers with it.

Eighty-millimeter pavers are the default where cars and trailers turn. A running-bond field with a darker soldier course hides tire scuff. Edge restraint is spiked into compacted base, not into loose shoulder grass.

Side-yard and staging notes

Event weekends fill the shoulder. We keep the drive throat wide enough for a trailer to exit without riding the edge, and we set a side-yard pad if bins or a golf cart need a hard stand off the lawn. Irrigation valves stay in flush boxes so a mower does not clip them.

Oldsmar State Street storefronts are a different job. This one is residential Race Track Road. PaverForge Hardscapes is based in St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or book online with a photo of the apron and the soft spot.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
