Ravenwood Driveways in West Largo
Ravenwood is a west Largo neighborhood near the Walsingham and Ridge Road side, with HOA streets, oak canopies, and drives that are often one car wide until someone adds a pad. The trees are the point of the street. They are also why the edge fails.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds and re-levels Ravenwood driveways from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or use paverforge.com/book-online.
Oak roots and HOA borders
Live-oak root plates lift the soldier course long before the middle of the drive moves. Cutting a root without a plan just moves the heave. We mark the root, decide what can stay, and use a root barrier only where it will not girdle the tree. The HOA usually wants the border color to match the street, so we pull a sample before we order.
Work hours and weekend staging matter here. Pallets do not sit in the right-of-way overnight if the association forbids it. We plan the drop for the day we excavate.
Section that holds a turn
A Ravenwood drive that also parks a second car needs flare geometry at the throat, not a sharp cut that scrubs the edge. Base is compacted in lifts and proof-rolled. Edge restraint is spiked on the spacing the restraint maker specifies, tighter at corners.
If only the border has heaved and the field is tight, we re-level the soldier course and leave the rest. Tear-out is for a failed base, not a cosmetic lip.
