Shore Acres and Bay Pines Pavers on the Bay Side

Shore Acres and Bay Pines sit on the bay side of south St. Petersburg, not on the Gulf beach. The lots are a mix of mid-century ranch houses, newer rebuilds, and canal edges. The soil is still sand. The water table is close. A paver field that looks fine in January can settle after a summer of afternoon storms if the base was a couple of inches of sand and a wish.

PaverForge Hardscapes works both neighborhoods from St. Pete Beach. Typical quotes are driveways that have rutted at the wheel paths, walkways that dropped next to an oak, and small patio fields that pond against the slab. Canal lots add a second problem: the edge of the hardscape has to hold when the yard drains toward the water.

Bay-side lots are not beach lots

A Gulf-front job fights salt spray and wind-driven rain. A Shore Acres or Bay Pines job fights a high water table, irrigation that never shuts off, and oaks that lift a walkway one root at a time. We still compact a real base. We still set pitch. We just design the edge and the drain path for a yard that sheds toward a canal or a swale instead of toward the Gulf.

  • Driveways sized for daily cars on a sand lot

  • Walkways that can be rebuilt around roots instead of fighting them

  • Patio pitch that leaves the house and does not pond at the slider

  • Canal-edge restraint so the last row does not walk toward the water

What we look at on the walk

On the quote walk we look at where water sits after a storm, where the irrigation heads throw, and whether the existing stones are worth saving. If the field is still good product, re-leveling is the first option. If the layout fights the house or the color is gone, we quote a new field and a 3D layout when the customer wants to see it first.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
