Sunset Grove Neighborhood Driveways in Clearwater
Sunset Grove sits on the Clearwater side of the peninsula where afternoon storms, irrigation overspray, and salt air all work on a driveway at once. PaverForge Hardscapes builds interlocking fields here with pinned restraints and joint details that survive that mix.
Coastal edge and base
Plastic edge that was never pinned, or steel landscape edging that rusted out, is the most common failure we open in this pocket. We replace it with a restraint rated for salt air, spike it on the specified spacing, and pin the corners so a king-tide wash does not peel the first course.
Base is crushed concrete in compacted lifts at optimum moisture. Bedding is ASTM C33 sand, not leftover concrete sand from a pour. That sounds picky until the first summer storm pumps fines through a dirty bedding layer and the field dishes.
Joints after a Clearwater storm week
We do not polymeric-sand a field the same afternoon the irrigation clock soaks the joints. Cure windows follow the weather, not the calendar. After the first storm season we walk the field and resand any washout at the throat before it becomes a weed lane.
