Union Street Dunedin Paver Walks
Union Street is a short residential block just off downtown Dunedin. Cottages sit close to the sidewalk, live oaks own the parkway, and a thin concrete walk is usually the first thing to crack.
What fails first
Sugar sand under a two-inch slab does not stay put. Roots lift a panel, the city sidewalk gets ground and raised, and the walk ends in a lip at the right-of-way. A paver overlay on that slab just copies the heave.
How we rebuild it
We cut out the failed walk, excavate to a compactable base, and set the field so the city sidewalk joint stays flush. Edge restraint goes in before the sand, not after the first rain. The pitch leaves the house and does not pond at the porch.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds these walks from St. Pete Beach north through Dunedin. Call 727-490-9798 or use the book-online page with a photo of the sidewalk joint and the worst panel.
