Weedon Island Preserve-Adjacent Hardscapes in Northeast St. Petersburg
Weedon Island Preserve sits on the Gandy / northeast St. Petersburg waterfront, where lots mix sand, roots, and a high water table. A paver driveway or side-yard walk here fails when the base is dumped thin and the field is pitched toward the preserve instead of a legal on-lot outlet.
What these lots actually need
We proof-roll after excavation, place geotextile on sugar sand, and compact the base in lifts. Tree roots at the preserve edge are cut only where they sit in the pavement section; we do not chase roots onto public or conservation land. Edge restraint is locked before sand and plate compaction.
Drainage stays on the lot. A swale, catch basin, or channel drain is chosen from the true low point, not from a sketch that dumps water toward the mangrove line. HOA and city right-of-way cuts get a clean saw joint and a matching soldier course.
