12th Avenue South St. Pete Paver Walks

12th Avenue South is a south St. Petersburg residential street between the Old Southeast grid and the Harbordale and 22nd Street South blocks. Drives here are often one-car wide at the sidewalk and widen at the garage. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds those throats and the walks that share the same base.

The sidewalk joint is the failure point

City sidewalk panels heave or settle on their own schedule. An apron that was poured to an old panel ends up proud, or it ponds. We cut the paver field to the current sidewalk, set a restrained edge, and keep the cross-slope so water leaves the walk instead of running down the tire path into the street gutter.

Alley-loaded lots and utility lids

Some of these blocks still load from an alley. The paver pad has to clear the garbage cart, the irrigation box, and any cleanout that the city or the plumber still needs to open. We set flush collars for lids we are not allowed to bury, and we keep a straight edge so the cart rolls without catching a lip.

Base under a short drive

A short drive still needs a real base. We do not skim-coat cracked concrete with pavers. Failed slab comes out, the cut is compacted, and 80 mm pavers go down where cars turn. Walk-only sections can use a lighter unit if the border is restrained and the base is the same build.

PaverForge Hardscapes works 12th Avenue South from our St. Pete Beach shop, with Harbordale, Bartlett Park, and the 22nd Street South corridor. Call 727-490-9798 or use paverforge.com/book-online.
