5th Avenue North St. Pete Driveway Aprons
5th Avenue North sits on the north edge of downtown St. Petersburg, where older bungalows meet a grid of oaks and city sidewalk. The apron is the piece that fails first. Cars track the same two strips, the city joint stays rigid, and a thin sand bed lets the first course walk into the sidewalk.
What we measure before we cut
We shoot the garage threshold, the sidewalk elevation, and the gutter. The field has to leave the slab and still meet the city walk without a toe-stub lip. Where the oak roots have already lifted the walk, we stop the paver field at a clean soldier course and leave the city concrete for the sidewalk crew.
Excavate to a compacted aggregate base, not a sand skim over native soil
Rigid edge restraint so the apron course cannot creep toward the street
Pitch to the legal gutter, never back at the garage
Match the existing field color only after the old pavers are washed and compared in daylight
Downtown access
Staging on 5th Avenue North is tight. We keep the dump trailer off the sidewalk and stage aggregate so neighbors can still use the alley. PaverForge Hardscapes is based in St. Pete Beach. For a 5th Avenue North apron quote, call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
