8th Avenue South St. Pete Paver Walks
8th Avenue South runs through the same south-of-downtown St. Petersburg grid as the Old Southeast, a mix of 1920s bungalows, mid-century ranches, and newer infill. PaverForge Hardscapes builds paver walks, courtyard entries, and short drives here when concrete has settled or the front path no longer matches a renovated porch.
Shade, heave, and a tight side yard
Oaks along 8th Avenue South lift walks in arcs, not in one clean crack. A sand-set field that was never restrained will open at the border first. We lift only the failed section when the base is still sound, and we rebuild the base when the sand has washed into the subgrade. Side-yard access is often a gate, not a truck path, so base is wheeled in and compacted in short lifts.
Porch landings and positive pitch
These entries need about a two percent pitch away from the porch so summer storms do not sit against the slab. We set that pitch in the base, not by tilting the last row of pavers. A darker soldier course hides tire scuff on the drive portion without making the whole walk hot underfoot.
Matching an existing field
If only the front walk failed and the side path is still locked, we match the module and the border rather than forcing a second color. Where the original paver is discontinued, we say so before we order and show a close blend in the layout.
We work 8th Avenue South with Bartlett Park, Roser Park, and the Grand Central edge. Call 727-490-9798 or book a photo quote at paverforge.com/book-online.
