Accent Bands and Color-Field Planning on Pinellas Driveways
A driveway reads as one surface from the street. If the field is one color and the border is another pulled from a leftover pallet, the house looks unfinished. PaverForge plans accent bands and color fields on paper before the first cube is opened so the pattern survives cuts at the apron and the garage.
Bands that do work, and bands that do not
A soldier-course or sailor-course frame in a darker unit hides tire scuffs and gives the field a finished edge. A thin accent band across the middle of a short drive fights every cut and looks busy from the sidewalk. On coastal lots we also watch heat: a near-black band next to a pale field can make the dark units too hot to walk at noon.
Blend at least three cubes into the field so one truckload does not stripe.
Keep the accent unit on the same thickness as the field so the band does not lip.
Order attic stock of both colors; a later repair with one leftover cube will show.
How we price the extra layout
Bands add cuts and time. We show that on the quote instead of burying it in a lump sum, and we mock a short panel when the owner is choosing between two blends. That panel is the only honest way to see color in Pinellas sun.
