After-Storm Inspection Checklist for Pinellas Paver Fields
Pinellas storms do not have to be hurricanes to move a paver field. A six-hour rain on sugar sand will find every weak edge, every open joint, and every low spot that was hiding under irrigation overspray. Walking the field the morning after is cheaper than waiting for the next cell.
PaverForge Hardscapes uses the same checklist on St. Pete Beach rebuilds and inland Largo drives. Photograph each issue; it is also what an insurance adjuster wants if the claim is storm-related.
Walk these items after the water drops
Standing water that is still there an hour after the rain stops.
Joints that look hollow or have sand piled on the downhill edge.
Soldier courses or plastic edge that have kicked out.
Apron settlement at the street or garage threshold.
Pavers that rock underfoot or have shifted out of pattern.
Mulch, oak litter, or roof gravel washed into the field.
What we repair versus what can wait
A washed joint that still has a locked edge can often be re-sanded after the field dries. A rocking driveway panel or a kicked edge needs the restraint reset and the base re-compacted. Sealing a wet, open joint after a storm traps moisture and stains.
