Building a Parcel-Locker Pad at a Pinellas Front Walk
Pinellas porches were not designed for daily parcel volume. A locker or drop box sitting on the stoop blocks the door swing; one sitting in the planting bed sinks after the first wet month. The clean fix is a small paver pad off the walk, isolated from the house slab, with enough standing room that a driver does not step into the liriope.
We treat the locker pad as its own mini field. Compacted base, pinned edge, and a pitch away from the sill so splash does not sit against impact-door weather seal. If the walk is already paver, we cut in a contrasting band so the locker reads as planned, not as an afterthought on leftover units.
Site checks before we set a locker pad
HOA rules on visible lockers and whether a color or height cap applies.
Power — many lockers want a GFCI within a short whip, which means a sleeve under the walk.
Sightline from the street versus hiding the box beside a knee wall.
Delivery path that does not cross a freshly jointed field the first week.
On alley-loaded St. Pete lots the locker often belongs at the rear walk, not the front stoop. On beach lots we keep the pad off dune-adjacent setbacks and use a darker unit that hides wet cardboard stains.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds these pads with driveway and stoop work so you are not paying a second mobilization. Call 727-490-9798.
