Building a Side-Yard Pressure-Washer Pad With a Trapped Drain
A pressure washer on bare sand cuts a crater in one weekend. Soap and grit then sheet onto the lawn or into a neighbor's swale. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a small side-yard pad with a trapped drain so wash water hits a basin, not the planting bed.
Pad size and setback
The pad is large enough for the machine, a hose reel, and one person standing. It sits off the stucco so splash does not stain the wall, and it stays outside any AC condensate or pool-equipment clearances. A pinned edge keeps the field from walking when the washer vibrates.
Trapped drain and discharge
A heel-proof grate over a trapped basin keeps mosquitoes out of the line. Discharge is tied to an approved pop-up or dry well on the same lot — never to a storm inlet unless the city job allows it. Oil and paint waste stay off this pad; it is for rinse water only.
Add a wash pad to a hardscape job
These pads are cheap to add while a driveway or side-yard walk is already open. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 with a photo of the side yard and the hose bib.
