Building a Side-Yard Recycling and Yard-Cart Pad

Recycling bins and yard carts parked on a paver joint will stain the sand and rock the edge. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a small side-yard pad with a trapped drain so rinse water leaves the field.

Pitch, drain, and clearance

The pad pitches to a trapped yard drain or pop-up emitter, not into the driveway joints and not toward the pool equipment. A soldier border locks the carts so wheels do not chew the field. We leave hose-bib clearance and a path the truck can still use on collection day.

If the side yard is the only gate, we keep the pad narrow enough for a mower and a bin roll-out. Irrigation heads move off the pad before polymeric sand goes in.
