Building an Outdoor Laundry Pad Beside a Pinellas Garage
Snowbird and rental houses in Pinellas still put a washer on the side of the garage. The machine sits on dirt or a cracked leftover slab, the discharge hose soaks the threshold, and the first tropical storm rusts the cabinet. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a small outdoor laundry pad with a real pitch, a place for the standpipe, and a splash edge that keeps the garage slab dry.
What the pad has to do
The field only needs to be a few inches larger than the machine, but it has to be dead-level under the feet and pitched at the perimeter so splash does not run under the door. We compact a thin section, set a soldier-course lip, and leave a sleeve for the drain if the plumber is tying into a laundry standpipe or a pop-up. If the hookup is on a screened side yard, we keep the pad below the screen-room footer so the cage contractor does not have to cut our field.
Level landing for the washer feet, pitch at the perimeter
Soldier-course splash lip at the garage threshold
Sleeve or channel for the discharge line
Units that match the existing driveway so the pad does not read as a patch
Rental and HOA notes
Short-term rentals often add the hookup after the drive is finished. We can lift a short run and drop the pad in without rebuilding the whole side yard. Email a photo of the bib and the threshold to PaverForge@gmail.com or call 727-490-9798.
