Cleanout Chimneys Through a Finished Pinellas Paver Patio
A sewer or storm cleanout that sits under a new paver patio is a problem the first time a plumber needs the lid. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a cleanout chimney through the finished field so the cap stays reachable, flush, and isolated from the patio.
Do not bury the lid in bedding sand
If the cleanout is left under two inches of sand and a paver, the next service call becomes a tear-out. We locate the stack, set a grade ring or short riser so the lid finishes 1/8 inch below the adjacent pavers, and wrap the chimney with an isolation gap so the field can move without cracking the PVC.
On pool decks the same detail matters around deck drains and backwash lines. The lid has to take a chair leg and a bare foot without rocking. We cut a ring of matching units, often a darker soldier piece, so the cleanout reads as a planned accent instead of a patch.
Photograph the existing invert and lid height before excavation.
Use a traffic-rated cover in driveways; a plastic irrigation box is not a cleanout.
Keep polymeric sand out of the threads on the cap.
Slope the field away from the lid so the well does not hold rinse water.
Adding a chimney to an older patio
We can lift a two-foot square, add the riser, and reset the same pavers on most Pinellas patios if extra units were left in the garage. If the original pallet is gone, we pull a soldier band from a less visible edge and use those pieces around the lid. Call 727-490-9798. PaverForge Hardscapes handles cleanout chimneys from St. Pete Beach through Largo and Clearwater.
