Dock Hose-Bib Grade Rings on a Paver Approach
Canal and bay lots in Pinellas often add a hose bib at the dock approach for boat rinse and fish-cleaning. Pave over that stub and the next wash-down means prying pavers. A grade ring keeps the bib, the valve, and the splash zone serviceable.
Flush with the approach, pitched off the seawall cap
We set the ring to the finished paver elevation so carts and bare feet do not catch a lid. The approach still falls away from the house and, where the seawall cap allows, away from the cap joint. A trapped drain in the rinse zone keeps wash water out of the bedding sand.
Salt, cleats, and the lift pedestal
Salt spray eats an uncoated frame. We use a corrosion-resistant ring, leave clearance from dock cleats and the boat-lift pedestal, and do not run the bib box through the seawall electrical pedestal pad. Irrigation and dock-water lines are located before the base is cut.
Bib and shutoff stay reachable without a tear-out
Rinse water trapped instead of pumped into the joints
Edge restraint pinned so the approach does not spread toward the cap
