Driveway Gate Posts and Operators in Pinellas Paver Fields

A driveway gate looks like a masonry detail. It is a structural load. The operator twists. Delivery trucks clip the post. If that post shares the thin paver bed, the first course walks and the whole apron opens.

PaverForge Hardscapes sets gate posts, column wraps, and operator pads in Pinellas paver fields. Call 727-490-9798 or book online at paverforge.com/book-online. Electrical hookup stays with your electrician or gate vendor.

How we isolate the load

  • Independent footings for posts, not a post dropped into bedding sand

  • An operator pad on the same compacted base as the drive, isolated from the post footing

  • A soldier course or band so the field can be serviced without cutting the gate out

  • Clearance for the swing or slide before anyone orders hardware

New drive vs retrofit

On a new driveway we place the footings before the field is laid. On a retrofit we open only the courses around the posts, pour the footing, and weave the pavers back so the patch does not read as a scar.

HOA and waterfront lots often want a column wrap to match the house. That wrap is finish. The footing is the job.

How to start a gate-post quote

Send photos of the opening, the existing posts if any, and the apron. Call 727-490-9798. We will walk the swing path before we quote stone.
