Fence-Post Sleeve Collars in Finished Pavers

A new aluminum or vinyl fence through an existing paver walk needs a sleeve on its own footing. Coring only the bedding lets the post rock and leaks sand every time the gate swings. PaverForge lifts a small field, sets the sleeve, and returns the pavers.

Sleeve sequence

We mark the post line, lift units past the edge restraint, and excavate below the base. The sleeve is set plumb on a small footing so it does not ride the bedding. Pavers are cut to a collar, not left with a jagged hole. Polymeric sand goes back only after the post is true.

Gate posts get a wider footing than line posts. The walk pitch is kept so water does not pond at the collar. If the fence is in a pool-cage or screen-wall line, we keep the post off the pool beam and off the equipotential bond path.

Schedule a collar

Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. Send the fence layout and a photo of the walk. We can set sleeves before the fence crew arrives, or cut collars after the posts are already in if the walk was paved first.
