Flush Curb Water-Meter Box Grade Rings
A city water-meter box at the curb is not a paver detail you bury. When a driveway rebuild raises the finished grade, the old concrete collar sits low, the lid rocks, and the next meter reader pries pavers to get the box open.
Grade ring, not a buried lid
The fix is a flush grade ring or a reset collar so the meter lid lands at the new paver surface. The box stays fully openable. We do not encase the utility box in concrete, and we do not run the soldier course over the lid. Call 811 before any excavation at the curb.
Around the ring, the base is compacted in lifts so the pavers do not settle into a dish that holds water on the lid. A slightly darker border paver marks the box for the utility crew without looking like a patch. If the city box itself is broken, that replacement is the utility's work. We set the hardscape to it.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets these curb meter rings on Pinellas driveway rebuilds. Call 727-490-9798 before the pavers go down if the meter sits inside the new field.
